I wanna join, how does it work?
The Draft Ranking System (DRS) is a ranking based on statistical data of team and individual performance in mixwars. Per side of each map (so not per map or per mixwar!) you are allocated rankpoints. Rankpoints are a collection of each performance metric. Over the course of roughly 2 months your mean rankpoints and variability decide your position in the draft ranking.
STEP 01
Choose an unique nickname and stick with it during the course.
STEP 02
Join atleast one mixwar (4on4/5on5/6on6) via discord. Play more and you will advance the ranking list.
STEP 03
An available war warranger will collect the screenshots and will share them with the admins on discord.
STEP 04
Your data will now be analyzed and publicly shared in the text channel "#draft-ranking"on discord.

FAQs
What is the purpose of DRS ranking?
There are several benefits to implement the DRS. The main reason is to assist captains for making a more sophisticated choice of players to balance their team. Instead of being able to pick only 1 player from each pot, a captain is able to pick twice from two large pots (based on mean rankpoints). Besides total mean rankpoints, captains have insight in each player’s partial performance such as whether the player is a real team player(high win and contribution rate), is not afraid to join the front lines (high frag rate) or is lethally effective (high hit rate). Moreover, the captains will be able to see whether the rank of the player is reliability and consistency by checking the variability and total count of played games.
How can I join the DRS?
There are two ways to join the DRS. Have you participated in last Winter Cup? Great you’re automatically in! Your performance in this cup will be translated to your first rankpoints. Of course you have about two more months to improve your rank, so strap on and join mixwars! Have you not played in the last cup? No worries, in order to receive your first rankpoints all you have to do is play atleast 1 mixwar between now and 1 week prior to the cup start.
Where can I find the DRS?
The DRS will be published in the dedicated discord channel and on this website. Note that the DRS is not live. Instead it will be updated on a frequent basis.
For how long will the DRS stay active?
The DRS is active from January till prox. 1 week prior to the cup somewhere in March (TBD). The initial rankpoints have however been collected from the past cup.
What is included for the DRS?
In order to have representative statistics for a 5v5 cup only 4vs4, 5vs5, and 6v6 games do count for the DRS.
Does it matter whether if I played mainly 4vs4 or 6vs6?
Nope, the performance metrics are normalized. In other words, they are independent of mixwar size.
Ok fine, I have joined such a game, what happens with my rank and what are these so called rankpoints?
Your rank (position in the DRS) will be based on your mean (average) rankpoints. For each side of a mixwar you played you are allocated rankpoints. These rankpoints are accumulated from the following four metrics: Win rate, Contribution rate, Frag rate and Hit rate. The more you play, the closer your mean rankpoints will come to your true skill.
Ehh metrics? Explain those for me please!
Per side you play, your rankpoints will be the sum of the following performance metrics:
20% Frag rate: Your kills divided by half of the maximum obtainable kills. For example, in a 5v5 that would be 5*12/2=30 kills per side.
20% Hit rate: Your score divided by half of the maximum obtainable score. For example, in a 5vs5 that would be 50*12/2=300 score per side.
20% Contribution rate: Your score divided by the sum of the scores of your own team.
40% Win rate: 0 points for losing the side, 0.5 points for drawing (6-6) and 1 point for winning the side.
Your mean rankpoints will be the average of all rankpoints (per side) you have obtained so far. This decides your position in the DRS. The standard deviation (related to variance) will showcase how reliable and consistent your rank is.
I haven’t been able to play even a single mixwar during the DRS period, can I still join the cup?
If you have participated in the last cup (Winter cup: The Sequel) then you are automatically assigned rankpoints for the DRS and you can still register for the cup. However, the cup has scarce data on your performance and your rank might be unreliable. The more you play, the more chance you have to be picked by the captains. We cannot guarantee a spot for all registered players.
Is there anything special I need to do during the mixwars to participate in the DRS?
Yes there are some house rules such as that you should play with a recognizable nickname and that you should give war arrangers the time to make screenshots before you leave the server. Leaving early or changing your name due to avoiding receiving descending rankpoints will only result in void rank (trackable with demos). Another important point is that team performance outweighs individual success. Be nice to each other and don’t prioritize your own rankpoints. Lastly and most importantly is to make sure to have fun!
What rules in mixwar apply?
The usual mixwar rules are applied. Be sure to turn on demos!
What is expected from me (as a war arranger)?
Please upload screenshots of each side of the mixwar in the dedicated channel in Discord. If you don’t have any keybind, kindly ask the players to stay shortly after each side so you can make a screenshot. It is important to obtain screenshots before people leave or start teamkilling each other. Besides we request you to discourage players using fake nicks during wars, so we have to prevent playing investigator for who was who. Thanks for your help!
Someone left before I could make a screenshot, what now?
Please provide us the demo of the particular map in the same dedicated Discord channel. We will take further actions.
I don’t (fully) understand the ranking system, who may I contact?
Feel free to contact spoD (Broetje#6976) on Discord.
I believe my rankpoints are not calculated correctly, who can I contact?
Feel free to contact spoD (Broetje#6976) on Discord.
Help! No War arranger has uploaded the screenshot of my game. What now?
First try to get in contact with said war arrangers and request them to upload the screenshots as soon as possible. If the results are still not uploaded after 3 days, then send your demos to spoD (Broetje#6976) on Discord.
